stopped at a yard sale on a whim this morning and found this for $20! Does anyone know what model number it might be or how to find out? Has a weird bobbin - sort of shuttle like. Need to find out what model it is so can download a manual. Found a site to download free manuals but need to know model number? It only has a knee "pedal"

check the machine for a serial number...may start with a number and may not...could be on the brass plate just below the oval Singer insignia...once you have that - go to Singer website..you can google it..and look for site to check models and serial numbers. They have lists of the serial numbers, what model it is and when and where it was made.

Fabulous find!

Just from glancing at it from the pictures and the info on the website below, I'm guessing it's a 127. Here's a website with more information that may help you positively identify it:

some times the machine serial number is on the bottom. take it out of the wooden cabinet and check. then you can go to Singer website and plug in that number and it will tell you what you have. Yes, there was a shuttle bobbin in very early machines. I have some from and hold hardware store from my grandaddy.
