After 2 years of looking for and not finding a deal/steal on a Featherweight, I finally found a fair price ($249) for one at a small town sewing machine repair shop. It's serviced, has a new case, a new power cord, and accessories. I'm thrilled, and my husband has a new appreciation for the vintage machines. He actually said he will now start looking for them at garage sales. I've decided to name "her" Cindy -- she's my Singer Cindy. :) It's the perfect machine to take to my granddaughters' home! Hope I am successful in attaching three photos - sorry one is blurry. Is there a way to treat the few paint chips?

paint chips - how to fix them?

I love the flat line of the front.

Good job on finding a deal and welcome to the FW club. The paint chips can be covered with a paint pen made for model cars. This is per Lostn51 aka Billy. He had this in one of his topics a while back.
You can find them at your local hobby store that carries Model cars it is called Model Masters paint pen if my memory serves me correctly. Just shake it well before using and try it on a thick piece of paper first to see how it flows. Then dab the areas you want to cover {try to keep it with-in the chip itself}. Give it a day or two to cure and there you have it. Billy said it has the same shine as the enamel on the machine.
Hope this helps.
Faith :XD:

I just love the chunka chunka sound of a featherweight sewing.

Welcome to vintage machines and the Quilting Board. You will love both! Maybe your granddaughter will love this machine too and will want to sew on it. You made a great deal on a real treasure.
