Not going to update Krickett's FW case after all.
I know I promised pics of the redo of the case but after checking it out the wood has major long fractures in the lid so much so that hubby said it would take a lot of glue and clamping and then it might not be real reliable for carry.
Also the wood was very very dry and brittle, I just didn't think it would turn out well but I tried to figure out what I could do to make it work but the changes would have taken it from a FW case to a small travel trunk with a strange strap handle configuration.
I will keep the case tucked away in the garage for another project at some future date.
In the long run I decided that because of what I use the FW's for and because I had a 60% off coupon from Joann Fabrics store today I went ahead and purchased Krickett a brand new cozy home. One I could take easily to sew ins and classes in style. It is a little large but then all of the extra organizer cases fit in the large tote with the FW.
I just couldn't pass up that 60% off coupon. LOL
Here are the pics of her new home and we also put new electrical on her and an electronic foot controller. She is a happy camper now. Gwyndolyn my white FW is a little jealous of Krickett's new case....

I have one of those sets too, not as pretty as yours, mine's brown. You'll be amazed at how much stuff you can get into all the cases and the smaller ones fit to the handle of the largest one, so it's like pulling only one. I love mine. I use it for packing around my black 301, perfect fit!

Thanks everyone, Nice to know others really like these cases. I have been looking at them for a year or so but the high price just kept me passing them by. Then when I joined a local quilt guild, they were EVERY WHERE on sew in day...LOL
I wanted to post and let peeps know that these can be very affordable with the right coupon. I can't wait to go to my next sew in and try it out.
I still feel kinda bad about the vintage FW case. I will refurbish it but I think it will have to carry light items and things that will not break if the top ever does give way.. I would hate to have a FW inside if that ever happens. I will post pics of the case when I do get around to fixing it up.
