Hi Lyn,
My Bernina Record 830 was given to me in 1975 brand spanking new. I have loved it and still to this day love it very much. Some of my grandkids have sewn on it and it will be passed down to a grandchild. I believe it had a 30 year warranty which to a young Mother of 2 (at the time) I felt was 'forever'. I have sewn many garments on it for 5 kids, H and a few quilts and many gifts, etc. It cost $600 brand new in 1975.

You will enjoy it for FMQ also. Mine does not particularly like C & C thread made in Mexico for some reason but other than that it is a dream machine. The brushes did have to be replaced once and the ugly plastic covering the motor discolors something awful but other than that it is a wonderful machine! I hope you enjoy it. I consider mine a vintage machine since it is 40 years old, even though it is not as old as my other vintage SM.

Happy Sewing!
