Default The Nova Twins

I just got the red one on the right and repaired it. Now I've got the twin set;> Both had the same issue ,and the most common problem of this model. Capacitors blow out in the electrical board and make the foot control not work properly. They're fun machines. I think this makes my 9th Bernina. I still need a few more models before I'm satisfied:> Here they are dressed and naked.

Candace,

That is a nice pair of machines.
Do you replace the capacitors and if so what does it take to do it, and where do you find them?

Yes, I replace them and order from online sources. Sometimes I can get them from Radio Shack, but typically it's via Mouser or some place similar. I just get replacements of the blown ones.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind just in case. So far the only blown capacitors we've had have been in our computer video card.

The capacitors are only a buck or so, and I've only flipped the circuit breaker to the house once while teaching myself how to do it. LOL. I've only had to change out capacitors on 4 machines, so the first couple were learning experiences. Now, I'm much more comfortable doing it.

I love your twin set! I admire you for tackling the inner electric stuff, inspiring.

There are two super rare colors I've never seen in person and have only drooled over-a neon green and an all over yellow/orange. I'd love one of those too.
