one more machine
It has been quite a long time since posting here. Of course when I need help who do I turn to? The QB members. After I announced that there would be no more sewing machines for me, guess what I did . Yes, I bought another one. BUT, this one is for my great grandaughter. She is 11 and shows a lot of interest so here we go. This new machine is a Brother and it is pink and a little purple . Sounds really girly and I think she'll love it. Following are the numbers etc : J16102422....Tingler 031 seems it was made in Korea if I am correct. Would really be grateful for any info such as when it was made, and anything else you could mention. The manual came with it but doesn't go into a lot of detail.

Ha ha ha! I had to put the kibosh on buying more machines, also, but today guess what I found? The exact same machine you're talking about! Pink and purple and weighs a ton! It was totally seized up, but after oiling, really sews well. Mine does not have a manual, but it's got a little pamphlet for product registration- this says Printed in Japan, so maybe the machine was also made in Japan? I think I threaded it right- does yours have a threading diagram?
It sews really nicely; I think it will be great for free motion quilting. I really want to take the motor off and treadle it; it looks like it might be possible.
I already have 25 other vintage machines, so I really don't need this one, but the colors are really bright and groovy.
