Singer Card Table #316, “the Monterey”, will take the 301 shortbed and the 400 & 500 series Anderson machines. The 301A does set a little lower in it than the 400s. My #316 was sent out new with a Singer 404 that my Grandmother bought in 1959. (Photos show a 301A, 301A, and a dirty 403A)

Don't be. I just copied the list, I don't have first hand knowledge. The pics in the file show places that were gouged out of the table to make another machine fit, so that's why I gave that info. The only card table I've owned was the 314 for the 301 longbed. That one really can't be mistaken for the others, I knew when I spotted it what machine it was for.

I learn so much here - I never knew these Singer card tables existed! Are they sturdy enough to really sew on? I think a regular card table would bounce around, but these are more stable? I like the look of the legs.

I have in mind trying to find one of those small square-ish cabinets. Very simple, very small. Something like this one: (random table from image search)

That way I have some hope of finding a spot where I can keep it set it up with the machine kept out, so it'll actually get used. If I fold it away...I'm not going to use it except rare occasions. I want the machine OUT, so I can see it, pet it, and use it! And show it off! Particularly since I have wanted one of these Rocketeers for sooo long, since before I even got into quilting. It's the machine that drew me in to vintage machines in the first place. Now that I have it I can't just put it in a closet or under a table somewhere! It needs a primo spot and regular exercise!

I also have a simple all-wooden table that I bought at IKEA a couple years ago that's doing nothing out in the garage; if I don't find something soonish I just might chop a hole into that one, and lop the legs off shorter. Would be a fun little DIY project. It's a little big, though.

Sigh. I need a bigger house! (The cry of sewing machine geeks everywhere.)

The card table will take up more space than a person thinks. The top is 32 inches square, plus the legs on the Singer card table project outward from top to bottom, giving the table good stability, but be ready to trip over them when you walk around it. It makes it so that you can’t set it up tight to a wall either.

If you’re short on room, I’d go with a small Singer electric cabinet. The top (closed) on some of the small ones is only 16”x22”, but some of them are straddle-legged like the card table, so watch for that. You can remove the flip-over extension top and store it away to make even a smaller foot-print.

were many of the 301 long bed tables made? I purchased one, but have never seen any others, even on eBay.

I don't know the number, but I've purchased 6 of them over the years and had the longest hunt for the longbed table. I have seen them on ebay. The rarest one I own is the add on table. I *think* it's model 311 1/2? It clips onto one of the card table as an extension. I've never seen one for sale on ebay or any where else. I have no idea what it's worth but I refinished it(it needed it). So, I'd have to venture the 1/2 type extensions are the rarest but the long bed tables aren't common .

That's exactly what I'm hoping to find. I know I've seen them around before, so I'm hoping I can find one locally that isn't in too bad shape. (And doesn't cost an arm & a leg.) I might be hoping for awhile, though!

Do you have the cams for that Kenmore?? My mom had this one and after she passed, I gave to step daughter who loved it to death! She used it so long and hard that it finally burnt out. Lol, she was upset about it but I told her my mom would be happy just knowing it did do good service and was appreciated muchly!

Wish I could find table for my 301. I did luck up finding a 221 featherweight machine in the card table at the local flea market over a month ago. Card table in super condition except for a very large area that faded, looks from sunlight?
