Painted Featherweights at Paducah's Quilt Show
#11
I sold 2 featherweights (a blue and green one) to a lady in Kentucky...maybe it's you? If so, I am so happy to hear you love your painted fw's.

A Featherweights color is up to the person buying it as to what they are willing to pay. I can say the same thing for anything else made to be sold. I mean look no one wants to pay us what our quilts are worth either. Because they just don't understand the time that's involved or supplies. A craft is a craft and I can say I'd be willing to get one of mine painted for $300.00 no problem and I may for my 60th Birthday in 2 years. I'll keep you in mind Surfergirl..

I am looking for someone who repaints featherweights, and who isn't outrageously expensive. I have seen prices that start anywhere from $350 up to $900. I already have the machine. I am located in PA, so for shipping purposes, the closer the better.

I bought my purple FW (my avatar) from a craigslist ad that I saw right after it was posted late at night. The ad said "I know it's worth at least $650 ... but I want to sell quick so I only want $140...". Lucky for me I was the first (of many) to respond and got it the next morning. She was a young woman and it had been a gift from her Mom who wanted her to start quilting, but she had moved to live with Dad while she went to college. Probably Mom was upset when she found out.
I also have a black FW but Violet makes me smile.
