Your machine is great. I just picked one up at an estate sale (I'd been looking for one). It's top lid is broken and I had to replace a spool holder, but I love it. My boys can sew on it and I don't worry about them messing it up. As for your cabinet-IT IS FABULOUS. I LOVE that style. My house is an eclectic mess of styles but that one brightens my day!

Kind of defeats the purpose of having it, doesn't it?

Lovely, yes even the cabinet. Linda I wish I had yours, it shares a birthday with me.......we are both 54. I think you scored, I just love old cabinets and machines, yep even the less pretty ones. I enjoy collecting these, but out of room in my sewing space. I've started scattering the prettier ones around the house and decorating with them, I just love all the different styles. Enjoy yours.

What a fun thread! It reminds me of my almost forgotten home ec teaching days. I can just see kids sitting on that table waiting for class to begin.

Mine was a gift from Aunt Marge when she didn't want to sew anymore. All my machines are vintage and this is actually my favorite. It gets lots of use.

I love the look of the 503! I sometimes uncover my Rocketeer when I'm not using it but working in the sewing room just to look at.

That cabinet may not be pretty but very functional. I'm into functional for my sewing room stuff.

I'd LOVE to find a cabinet like that. Would be terrific. I love both the cabinet and the machine. You are lucky to have found them.
