hey Vaginney, once you sew on a well lubed and timed 201, you will definitely add it to your collection. Then, you will start keeping your eyes open for another!

We picked our 201-2 up at an antique shop in a cabinet for $75.00 ± . It's a sweet heart. Makes a totally different sound than even the 15-91s. Smooth and quiet. :D

I am in love with it. Happy sewing to all! My sewing area is in the basement. But my DH didnt want to lift my 201 & cabinet down the stairs. So he left it by the window in the living rm. To my surprise, the natural lite shows it off and I love the new location!

Our sewing area is also in the basement and we hate it. My wife keeps threatening to reverse the house. Put all the upstairs stuff down in the basement and the sewing stuff upstairs. Considering I've gotten into it too, I'm almost tempted to go for it.

My singer 99 has just one grease cup. I loosen a screw and remove the cup, put the grease in it and replace it in the machine..Post a Picture so we know what machine you have....

mjhaess,
Can you post a pix of your 99. I'm not aware of any grease pot on a 99 as they don't have gears. Cathy

Singer 201 Trouble with grease cup caps
1 Attachment(s)
Removed the grease cup caps on my 201-2 to add lubricant but cannot get one of the caps back on...Too tight of an area to properly line up the threads on the grease cap closest to motor. Anyone else have this issue??
