Am I getting bored or burned out?
 

Been a bit under the weather lately and have wanted to start a new quilt. Got the two for my aunts finished and soon they'll be on their way.

But I want to use a different machine. I just can't seen to get interested in using any I have here. I've got Singer, Kenmore, and other straight stitchers, Japanese, Singers, and other ZZs too. Even got a variety that use cams.

Non of them appeal to me right now.

I'd like something different. Not modern plastic junk, not ones that use odd ball obsolete needles or bobbins, not pre-1900, but something .... well something different.

I'd like to have a machine that could do SS, ZZ and decorative stitches, with NO plastic of any sort inside. But not the ones I have.

This is bad. I probably have what I want but just don't want it. :(

Okay, wait a minute while I pour you a glass of "I don't wanna"; there now, feel better? Now then, go and love on at least three of your machines and tell them you're truly sorry for feeling like you do right now, that they're beautiful and you do not know WHAT got into you but you WILL do better after you've rested and drank your glass of IDW.

Okay...did that help? I thought so, works every time! NOW GET BUSY!!!!!!!!!! (If you still have a problem and can see yourself in SC, "come on down"! I've got 17 machines, new and old, big and small, and you can play to your heart's content while your wife and I go shopping!!! We'll come back when your credit card says it's time...):)

Okay, done with my little self-confidence booster for now!

Depending on where you live you could have the winter "blahs".

I got Mr. Crinkle out today. He's my #1 Singer 66-18 and have begun finishing up a passel of bags I make. When done I'll put them on the Ruger Forum with an inventory reduction sale. Made and sold a bunch a couple years ago but the sales have dropped to zero. Time to clear them out.

Mr. Crinkle is sooooooo very quiet for a big old machine.

Mr. Crinkle is happy to be back in service. For you, Joe, if the sun shines tomorrow, go out for a walk. Having two furgirls who expect to walk no matter what the weather helps keep my spirits up. I don't recommend taking one of your cats for a walk. I tried that once. It was hilarious, but unsuccessful.

Well, Joe, I have been quilting on my mid-arm and I am not very good at it but thought since I was blah anyway just as well do something------well, I have 7 tops quilted (some throws, some queen size) and have 12 more tops to quilt! Can you tell that piecing is my favorite? But I am starting to feel better just because I am getting something done-------Hang in there, "the sun will come out tomorrow----"

Maybe you need to look for an older Bernina or Pfaff that have all the stitches and are still mechanical and metal. Something from the 60ies? Or how about a long arm? LOL Maybe try some extra vit. D and sunlight. I like joining swaps as it keeps me in touch and going.

Before I moved to IL :( I used to walk my moms lab mix doggie. At that time he was 70 or 80 pounds, maybe more and the two of us would go across the street to an abandoned trailer part. Tinte would go after the mice. Dig 'em up, chomp, toss 'em aside, go on to the next one. I had more fun watching that pooch do that. Somewhere I have a pic of him digging one out. You can see the back half of him out in the open, his front half in the dirt digging with a shower of dirt going over his back.
Both mom and Tinte are gone now and I can't have a dog were we are currently. When we leave here that is one of my priorities, get a dawg.

I like piecing too. I don't like cutting the pieces out though :rolleyes:. We finally go the two quilts we made for my aunts washed. Got some minor repairs to do on both of them. Then out they go.

The reality of the thing is I have very little room to sew. And quilt size things are really a PITA.
