ANTIQUE SINGER SEWING MACHINE. HELP! Garden City, MI

2 Attachment(s)
I found this on ebay last Friday and bid $25.00 never thinking I would win. I won it for $21.50. Unfortunately it's in Garden City, MI and I'm in Arizona.

Anyone from MI know of a good transporter?

Huh Oh!!! That's an interesting problem. You would have to find a crating company that would pick it up, crate it and ship it for you. That's going to be rather expensive!!

You may want to check the Treadleon group. Some of the folks with that group are willing to transport treadles.

Look to see if a company called "mini moves" is still in business. I used them once a long time ago and it worked out for me. They may warehouse it for a short time till another order comes your way.

I've looked at large items on Ebay but if they say "pick up only" I'm sure to check where the item is located so I don't have to travel cross country to get it!!

Perhaps you should try for 2 shipments. If the seller will unmount the head.

Wow that sounds like that's gonna be pricey!! Hopefully someone on this list can help you. It looks like a beauty, is it in working condition?

That was going to be my suggestion too. They often have folks that will "pony" machines, and seem to have connections with quite a few truckers....

If you change your mind about the machine and can't find a transporter, please let me know. I will be going to Mi. in the spring and I would love to have it. Good luck with what ever you decide. Tipper

Try www.uship.com. It's like eBay for shipping - post what you have, what it weighs, the dimenstions, etc., and people bid on the cost to ship it. Good luck!
