I ran across this beauty today and had to take pictures for you. I don't know anything about these machines, but thought you would like to see it. The price tag was a little over 400. It turned free and there were several attachments in the drawer. The only numbers we could find was an 8 on the right hand side, front. Also it had an odd bobbin. It looked like our new bobbins, but diameter bigger but smaller between the side blades.

Wow! Would love to see that in person.

Come visit....I'll let you sew on mine! :) That's a nice machine, thanks for getting the photos and posting them!
Did you notice if the glass presser foot was there? Or inserts for it? The W&W #8 was produced between 1876 and 1880...they're neat machines!! :) There's a photo of mine on page 4 of the Vintage Machine Photos thread: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-130994-4.htm |
Very cool!

No glass pressure foot or inserts. There a few attachments, not sure if they were for that machine or just in the drawer. One was a binding attachment another was a hem attachment and another was a rolled hem attachment. I figured it was manufactured in the 1800's. Of course we couldn't find a serial number any place...
