Brother Industrial - DB2-755 - good for anything?

I have an ad in the local buy/sell, for unwanted machines. The guy wants $50 (canadian, which is about $2 US I believe ;) )

I was thinking if it's variable speed, which it looks like it is,.. a person could make it into a quilting machine...? it takes DBx1 needles which are available to me.

I know nothing at this pint about industrial machines though, and what to look for.

Any thoughts?

Sorry,.. that's a DB2-B755

I can't edit the title now that I found that mistake.

Well, in the end, it didn't matter. The guy gave me his address, phone number and said I could text as well. Said he'd be around til 3, and then stood me up. Yes, I showed up at his house at 2:15, rang the door bell, called his phone and texted him, no response.

I rang the doorbell a bunch of times, after I realised he wasn't home, just to watch his dogs tear at the plastic on the window. :D It's only fair for standing me up after I drove into the city to meet him. :D
