Davis Vertical Feed base

I ran across this on my local CL and thought some of you with the DVF might be interested. No cabinet, unfortunately, but the base:

Such a pretty base! I can only wish from afar, and too pricey. Thanks for showing it.

Definitely too pricey. I've paid as little as 25 dollars for a singer base. I redo them and put glass on top and make them into an end table.

Wow!!! Exactly what I need, but $80 plus shipping from coast to coast would make it very very more expensive than what I paid for the machine head itself!! (pout, pout, pout!!!)

I'm with you. If it was only closer. I got my Davis VF head for $8, but I have another Davis cabinet it will fit in.

But I would love to have a set of iron like this.

These irons are more decorative than the ones I have. But I am too far away. Ah, well.

I paid 35 for one that was complete bottom, and 15 for just the legs and one bracket between the legs. I think the 80 is over priced. It is pretty though.

My DH made me a lamp table for my sewing room with the base I bought. The table is then the same height of the machines I have there in cabinets. I won an Ott light in a drawing from a LQS celebrating their aniversary in business that needed a table.

Sounds like you got good deals, BarbaraSue. I had not thought about a table for the sewing room made with irons. What a great idea! I will have to keep a lookout for orphaned irons in my area.
