Desperately Need Help with Signer class 15 LA
3 Attachment(s)
So for the better part of today I put my "new" stretched Class 15 Singer onto my quilt frame. This in and of it self was not an easy undertaking. I had to drill new holes, do some wiring work, move the bars. etc, etc. ( Must remember to have DH with me when I do this again). I get it all set up turn on Rose to give her a test drive, and she is vibrating...the whole frame and everything! I have tried to put cork underlay under her hoping that the vibration would stop. It lessen it but not much. Does anyone know what I can do to stop the vibration? I really do not want to put my Singer 241-11 back onto the frame, Berta weighs close to like 60 lbs.. Not to mention that the harp on Berta is only 11 inches where as Rose is 16.

What did the manufacturer say about your issues? Maybe a piece of carpet or a few layers of batting?
|
That is the bad thing. Wowquilts no longer sells these machines. I am going to a few things tomorrow. I will add the carpet to the list lol =) Well after my home work is done.

Are you sure the quilting frame is level to the floor?

I didn't know WOW wasn't in business anymore??? I wonder why as it seems like they had quite a long wait list.

Wow is still in business according to their site- just stretching your machine for you rather than selling stretched machines. I read some blogs and articles about these because I find them fascinating- and 'tinkering' with the machine setup is apparently really common when learning to use them. I saw mention of: lengthening the machine holder, adding more thread guides, various clamps, adding boards under the machine, etc. So I guess you will have to play around. If weight is the only issue, then maybe adding some will help.
sorry this answer isn't more useful.... |

I was going to suggest adding weight to,the frame, not necessarily to the machine. That's quite the set-up!

Lag bolt to floor and studs in wall?
