Does anyone know?

Hello All:
My daughter's neighbor set a sewing machine head out for the trash folks. Very old. Black with the name of "Favorite" across the top. It is a treadle. Has anyone heard of this name. So far they have been unable to locate a number. It was the neighbors grandmother's machine and there is nothing else but the head.

According to the Encyclopedia of Early American Sewing Machines, a Favorite label was put on machines manufactured by Davis, New Home, Standard and White.

Me too. I see treadles all the time missing the machine head...save it! :)

Hello:
Thank you TinkerQuilts and Quiltingweb for your replies. Yes, she rescued the machine. Now to find a home that may have a treadle base. We have heard of New Home and White but never Davis or Standard. The Amish will take treadles that are in working condition and not certain they would desire to have this one.
