Does anyone recognize this Singer?

I came across this on CL today for $50 and I'm curious as to what model machine this is. I really just want the cabinet should it fit a 15-91 or 66. Thanks for your help.

Those machines should fit that table - it is a touch and sew - some times they work some times they make you want to rip your hair out.

Definitely a Touch and Sew by Singer. I hated mine. If I were lucky it worked 10% of the time. My DH at the time thought I shhould have something in a nice cabinet instead of a portable (Necchi which I loved) sitting in the closet and using a table to sew on. Grrrr !!!! Every time I had it worked on he told me what a "Great machine you have." I always told him it wasn't, but he always disagreed. I suppose because it was metal and not plastic.

Thats my Golden Touch and Sew - Paid $350 for it with all the bells and whistles at the time - ....can you believe over 50 years ago!! I still use it, altho it IS noisy! I could never get rid of it. Good luck!

Thanks everyone!! I had a nice conversation with the woman who was selling it. I told her I really didn't want the machine but would take the table/cabinet if it the opening met the specifications for a 15-91 (which I provided to her). She measured it and the opening was too large. She I can strike that one off the list.

EEEEK!!! Its Singer Golden Touch and Sew. My Mom had one and it was the crankiest, worst machine ever made.
I hated having to use it. I've heard that some people were fortunate enough to have one that worked as advertised. Sharon(who only has nice Singer treadles) :D |
LOL! That seems to be the prevailing opinion around here. :)

Technically, the machine will fit, the hinges and such will place it right to the left, it will leave a couple of inches open to the right of the machine. I have a table with the same opening dimensions, and a 15 I could put in it to show you if you'd like. The black machines that were treadled typically had the spring piece that the belt went through there.
