Elna bobbins

Hi everyone, seems I haven't been on here in forever! I need some help and figured someone on this board may know the answer. I bought an Elna Supermatic that uses type 772010 bobbins. I have searched and searched to find some place to buy extras and have only found 1 place that sells them and it would cost more in shipping than to buy them. I wondered if anyone knew where I could get a few extra bobbins. TIA.

Unfortunately this type of Elna is very picky about bobbins and the only ones that fit it really well are the ones from Germany that Ray White sells and that one or two sellers on ebay sell. Or you can look for vintage, Elna bobbins on ebay. If you use the Chinese made bobbins in this machine you'll see much more thread jams than when using the German made ones. The other vintage Elnas aren't as picky as these green SUs are, and the Chinese knock offs can work. You can go to Ray White's site, but yes, shipping is going to run a bit.

Has anybody tested the Elna bobbins from Sew-classic?

I own an Elna SU that is 40 years old. I purchased my bobbing from Whittier Sewing in St Clair Shores MI Their phone# is 586-293-2380. That's where I found my walking foot and 1/4 in foot too. He does a great job cleaning machines

What do they look like? My DIL brought me a bag with assorted bobbins and I might have some in there you can use.

I bought my Elna in 1964 and have used class 15 bobbins in it ever since. It has never given me a moments trouble over any kind of thread or any bobbin problems at all.

If they're the ones from Germany, they'd be fine in the green SU's. But from China they'd probably do best in the other Elnas.
