Ever heard of an Banker Gloria?
I was at a Goodwill today and saw an Anker Gloria sewing machine. It looked to be a 3/4 size and was fairly lightweight, but also seemed to be at least mostly metal. It was only $10, but didn't have a cord, and since its German, not sure the cord would even work here! It did have the bobbin but the handwheel was stuck. I found this pic online. http://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-a...329?ref=search Thanks!

It is a cute machine - but I have never seen one before.

I have an Anker machine that is green and in a similar type case. I can't get to it right now, stuck behind a bunch of fabric and "stuff". It is similar but maybe just a different year. Wish I could find the pics for it. It is in great condition and was around 200.00.

I would have probably grabbed it just for the novelty factor. It's a neat looking little machine.

You did buy it, right? Anker sold many machines in the US - so I'd assume it WILL work here.

I didn't buy it....should I go back and get it? Not really in my neighborhood (20 miles away) but if I could find a cord...

Getting a cord that fits could be a problem. A small appliance repair shop may be able to wire something for you if they can access the wiring. You might call and ask a srs if they can do that before you buy the machine.
