Featherweight-CL Score Pics

Hey Everyone~I figured out how to resize my pics so here are a few before and after. I said she was in great shape, but really she's just in good shape...no matter I am happy. She makes perfect stitches. My only issue is that without the bobbin in, she runs so quiet I couldn't believe it. Once I put the bobbin in, she's noisy. Could be the "old" thread in the bobbin?? I will take out the thread and wind up some fresh thread and see if that works. Only 1 bobbin came with her. Have already ordered new bobbins, cord for foot pedal and needles. Next will be the belt and a hunt for feet. Her name is Annie. Thanks for looking.

No pics have come up for me. You did far better than I did. Found one for $125 last week- It Smells! 3 hour round trip. The cord was covered in many bits of electrician and duct tape. The so-called electrician I bought it from said it was his mother's, the wiring was "safe enough", and he couldn't figure out how to put a new cord on. Yikes. I made a stop on the way home to a quilt shop that services machines, but he was using the last of his cords for machines being serviced. I ordered a new belt and cord to be mailed, but wasn't smart enough to order a new pad. Machine is in good shape aside from cord and broken off light bulb.

I am thinking of putting on a low shank adapter so I can use feet I already have. Do you know if this will work?

Annie is beautiful, congrats.

Congrats on your beautiful machine.

Monroe, I don't think you will need an adapter. Featherweights are short shank machines and many other machines are too. Try the feet you have. Likely as not, they will fit and work just fine. Likewise, the feet and attachments for a featherweight will probably fit other machines. I use my buttonholer that came with my Featherweight on my Janome 6500 machine and it works beautifully (the built in buttonholer on my Janome won't handle large or thick buttons).

Thanks very much Shelbie. I should have been clearer- I have some snap on feet and was talking about a snap on shank adapter. Will give it a try when I get the new power cord. Patti- what inspired the name Annie?

Mighty and Rumbols, thank you I am in love. Monroe~congrats on your new FW. Sounds like the electrician was just a "taper" trying to disguise himself as an electrician, lol. You got a good buy though, enjoy her/him. Well, I recently bought a treadle, Singer 127 Sphinx in a 3 drawer cabinet from GW and got her pretty much cleaned up and on display. I named her Miss Bertha after my DGM, whom I adored; she had a 3 drawer treadle. So when I got my FW, I decided to name her based on my middle name Ann (my maiden name is Hall, so I always felt like Annie Hall and never liked the name Patricia) thus Annie. Gonna try to post some more pics.

imnywoman,

One place to check for a noisy Featherweight is the bobbin case. Here is a link to a site with instructions on how to do that:
http://thefeatherweight221factory.co...kingSound.aspx

There is nothing out of the ordinary about the feet, belts, or most accessories for the Featherweights.
A lot of people try to rip others off by charging more for anything that has anything to do with them. So when you go to buy feet and accessories just look for low shank feet and don't mention Featherweights.

Lovely machine. I just bought one off of eBay Canada & she arrived the other day. She smells a bit but hopefully that will fade in some better environments. Mine is in pretty good shape. The decals on the front of the base are a bit faded but that's all. Love her - my Miss Abby.
