I know these are pretty sought after but what is a going rate on them? He's asking 150.

aronel 11-17-2012 03:39 PM

Yes, that is a FW table, I think he is asking too much (JMHO). See if he will take less. If you really want it - go for it.

quiltingcandy 11-17-2012 03:43 PM

It looks like one to me - I would take one of my FW's with me to make sure it fits and how it works. That is the going price here in CA, location is everything.

Shelbie 11-17-2012 04:10 PM

It looks just like mine (I think mine is a little darker in colour) and I paid $150 for it. You don't see them in such good shape very often. Many of them were used for other purposes and are broken, water stained with rings or even have burn marks. It's worth the money I think.

harrishs 11-17-2012 06:05 PM

I would pay $150 for it in a heartbeat. I have one without the slide cover and the top is badly in need of refinishing----(I bought the stuff just haven't done it yet) but I love sewing with my FW in it......!

MimiBug123 11-17-2012 07:44 PM

I would get it before he changes his mind! I think that's a good price.

Littlebearquiltingboard 11-18-2012 01:36 AM

I would pay that price too due to the good condition is appears to be in.

Bluelady 11-18-2012 01:52 AM

I have one that was poorly refinished. Does not look original at all anymore. BUT. It works great with my FW. I paid $75 for it.

sewmom 11-18-2012 04:30 AM

From what I just heard from a collector in my area, FW tables are fairly hard to find due to the fact that the veneer is very thin on them. The tables were used as card tables as well as sewing tables and many got ruined with wetness. They were selling their refinished ones for over $300. It is an original if the serial number is stamped on the underside of both the table and insert. The numbers should match. if they do, Pay the man and run! It looks to be in excellent shape.

I got mine for $100 and all the numbers matched. The guy I bought it from made a point to show them to me. LOL I like the extra room it gives me. Now if my FW would just quit with the tension problem.

amyjo 11-18-2012 08:14 AM

I have one too. I paid $105 at auction but would have gone much higher to get it. I work for a living and if I decide I want something I get it. I still have not set up my Husqvarna Rose to try her out and I have had her since aug 17, 2012. Just no time to play on her. will be trying her out this Thanksgiving weekend, because I will be done with work for a few days.

Rann 11-18-2012 11:28 AM

There is one for the 301 that looks just like the FW one.

ArchaicArcane 11-18-2012 11:42 AM

The FW table I saw yesterday didn't have the "jig" to the side on the left. Definitely take the FW with you to check. There were tables like this for the FW, 99, 128, 301, 401 and possibly others.

Stitchnripper 11-18-2012 01:01 PM

that's what mine looks like except mine is in a little rougher shape. But, I really lucked out at the Good Will store and paid $9. and change. I was doing the happy dance all the way home.

tenngal 11-18-2012 01:09 PM

I've only run across a few and they ask a lot of money for them - more than yours would be. Most are in bad shape, too. I would pay that for one - since my hubby is not a handyman.

maryellen2u 11-18-2012 02:29 PM

That's a FW table! Gosh I would love to have one. If you don't buy this one, let me know so I can!

ArchaicArcane 11-18-2012 04:54 PM

My mistake. I was too excited for having seen my first one yesterday that I didn't notice the jig. It does look like the FW one. I went back to the store today, after calling and asking for them to put it on hold. When I got there, there were 2 of them waiting for me. I ended up buying the second one, instead of the first, because it was almost half the price, and the more expensive one wasn't twice as good. :)

I believe it is, but it depends on the opening. They also made this table for the Singer 301. I got my folding FW table on ebay about 2 years ago for $75, but I have noticed that most are going for a little more than $100 these days.

Pat M. 11-19-2012 02:32 PM

I paid $20.00 for mine just a month ago. I did have to refinish it. Make sure it has all the parts underneath the table. There should be a locking mechanism underneath the part that lifts out. It swivels to lock.

The table for the 301 looks different, its blonde wood on top and painted tan around the edge of the table. There is no holding "basket" inside the 301 table and the cut out for the insert looks different too.
