Feet for Industrial Singer?

I have a late seventies model 281-1 Singer industrial machine. I love the speed and ease of sewing and the wide throat, all of which would be great for quilting, except it doesn't feed evenly and I get huge puckers, mostly on the front. Does anyone know if there is an even feed or walking foot that would work on it and if so where I could get one?

anywhere that they sell industrial machines, they should be selling feet. There is an even feed foot available for some industrial machines...just not positive it will work with yours. They sell for over $100
Have you checked into changing out your feed dogs? There are 3 different bites, and you may be using one that is too rough for quilting. You will most likely need the finest one (with the most teeth). It only takes one or two screws to exchange the feed dogs. These sell for $20+.
If you can locate your instruction book on line, it may have the correct answer for you.

I agree - check out the feed dogs first. For industrial use, they change them to suit what ever task they have the machine set up to do. A home machine is mainly set up for dress making.
