Foot pedal for featherweight quit

How do I fix the foot pedal for my featherweight? I thought it might just be lint buildup but that wasn't it. Don't know what to look for other than that.

Are you sure it's the foot control and not the motor?

That is what it was once before and the friend who fixed it for me (in 5 min or less) has moved away.

Easiest would be to swap out exact same controller & cord known good. Could also test for voltage or continuity with multi-meter if familiar with there use.

Did they work on the motor or the controller?

Will have to check with somebody who has such things. Also will see if another friend who said he had a repair manual for his vintage machine has the necessary info.

Could be a loose wire somewhere. Good Luck.

Anyone nearby you could compare yours with? Borrow foot pedal and cords?

My neighbor is going to check it out tomorrow.

I think you could get a new foot control. I got a new one last year but I kept my old one it has a loose wire, will probably get it fixed to keep it vintage. Brewer Sewing supplies has them.. your LQS could order one for you, they are about $25. I think don't remember...
