It's probably 1924 or after as it says "white" on the foot pedal. Owner doesn't know if it works. Is it possible to get parts like wiring or motor if it doesn't like we did with the Singer? Decals look in pretty good shape but case is kind of rough. What about getting shuttle parts? $45 on the ad.

Cheryl,
Ive rewired a number of old machines, the motors are basic and simple. A number of places sell belts , bobbin tires, and bulk wire. Motors are available also but would not be vintage.
The Franklins used Singer 27/28 size bobbins and shuttles.

I just picked up a Domestic at a garage sale today for $5, which was acquired by White in 1924. According to what I was reading, White continued manufacturing Domestic but mostly made the Franklin machines for Sears and Roebuck. In 1926 the group was reorganized as the White Sewing Machine Corp and from the mid 1920s unti 1950 was the main supplier for S&R under the names as Minnesota, Franklin and Kenmore. In 1940 or so, they started the crackle finish idea on sewing machines. White went out of business in the 50's due to the influx of the Japanese clones. I realize this doesn't answer your question directly, but if White produced all of those machines for S&R under different names but used the same machine, you should be able to get parts. the one I got had been set out for the trash, a woman picked it up and had it reconditioned for her daughter who didn't want it. I was soooo lucky. Hope you are too.
