Franklin Treadle in a Parlor Cabinet

4 Attachment(s)
Truthfully, didn't know that I was going to have a collection, but it seems to be working out that way. I just bought a Franklin VS "Scarab" treadle in an oak parlor cabinet. I paid $100 for it. A little wear on the decals in the front, but the back decals are gorgeous. Has it's shuttle and a bobbin. Here's hoping. Two boxes of accessories. In the accessories box, there is an extra shuttle and 2 bobbins. Some staining on the top and a little piece of the applique is missing, but other than that, it is beautiful. The guy I bought it from got it at a storage sale (like Storage Wars). Can someone help me date it, the # is 34 9310.
Thanks,
Dolly

I have the same machine in a very similar parlor cabinet. I don't know the exact year but Sears introduced that machine around 1911. It was made by the Domestic Sewing Machine Co. It's an almost perfect copy of the Singer 27 and the Singer shuttle and bobbins will fit and work in it.

You've got a nice set of attachments for yours, mine didn't come with them.
I'm thinking, but I'm not positive that Singer low shank attachments and feet will work on that machine. Like I said, I'm not positive.

I have the twin of this machine and its cabinet! Your cabinet is in much better condition. My seller was trying to get the machine back into its cabinet and DROPPED it. A piece of the peddle broke and the cabinet collapsed. The machine survived....not surprising, huh? These old machines are amazing!
