A friend of mines mother would like to sell her older Singer Machine. I am interested in buying it. What model Singer is it and what is a fair price to offer her for it? I could not get a very good picture of it so hope you can tell what the make is. Thank you!

That's definitely a 201. I can't give you much help on what to offer though. Price varies by so many details, what shape it's in, how nice is the table, how badly you want it..and quite likely that this is your friends mother will also play a part. ;)

Is this machine suitable for quilting and will the feed dogs drop to do free motion quilting? It comes with what looks like a Queen Anne style Cabinet.

I love my 201 for piecing. It's the best machine I have for it. Takes a standard needle and class 66 bobbins.
Check eBay for high end pricing. Mine was $30 but was not working and required some $$$ and lots of time to get it back to healthy. |

That is a 201-2 in a very nice cabinet. I can't say what you should pay, but we paid around $80.00 for ours in a different style cabinet. The 201-2 is an excellent machine for just about any normal straight stitching task. Joe |
I have Helen, my grandmothers 201-3 and it sews almost anything and is a great machine. Would love to have a cabinet for it, so go for it, you won't go wrong.
