Houston CL - heads up for vintage Singer buffs

I don't know a thing about this machine, and figure the seller probably doesn't either. He/she didn't bother to pull it away from the wall to take a picture of the front, but the decals catch my eye to the extent they can be seen. Houston is too big, and CL really should narrow things down a bit. It's probably 40 miles from where I live. Somebody save me from this temptation:

pretty, I should dig mine out and see what it looks like other than the quick exam when I bought it.

Cool, but IMO overpriced

It is a Singer model 27/127 and is overpriced. First thing that needs to happen to that machine is remove the ugly light! Then take off motor and convert to hand crank or treadle! Ahhh, then it would be nice.....these sell in my area for $40-60. You can walk away, these are plentiful. I own 4 and the most I paid was $25 and least was $10. If you really want this model, keep your eye open and you will find one for the right price.

Thanks for the clarifications, fellow QBers! I don't know what the going price might be around here, but I really don't need any more old machines. I have a 66 Lotus crank model that works, and a 66 Red Eye that shows some potential but needs lots of work. There's also a Harris #9 that I think probably sews okay, but the bobbin winder needs a new tire, and I haven't even taken the time to do that simple fix. I just like looking at it, and enjoy spotting whatever pretty old one might turn up on CL or in local shops, where they are almost always very high priced. The ones I actually bought were luckier finds in terms of price, but I've never seen any that I would call a steal, such as we read about on this board quite often. It's much more common to find rusty, dusty old junk, stripped free of anything that would come off, that someone thinks is their pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. :p
