How do I cover feed dogs for Free Motion Quilting on a treadle?

I have a little doll-sized quilt I'd like to try FMQ with my treadle. What's an easy way to cover the feed dogs and which of my accessory feet should I use? I have a box of Geist accessories, but only just a couple plain feet. The rest are hemmers and rufflers.

I think someone showed on QB what the darning foot looks like on old machines. It was a little wire thingy that fastens on. I don't have one and have not tried to FMQ on my treadle. mine only has the single hole plate and I would just break needles if I tried. On newer machine they recommend covering the feed dogs if you can't lower them. Some people tape an index card over them. Since. I am not familiar with your set up, I can't offer any more advice.

I set stitch length at 0, loosen the pressure on the presser foot and FMQ that way on machines that don't drop the dogs, and that my hopping foot doesn't fit correctly on...

I'm having a similar problem. I have a Singer Sew Mate and my feed dogs don't drop. I have a darning plate. My machine won't do a 0 stitch length and I have no idea how to loosen or raise the presser foot tension. How do you do this??

Do you have a manual for this machine? There has to be a way to adjust the pressure of the presser foot. On my Kenmore, I have to open the "door" on the left that exposes the needle bar and presser foot mechanism. I looked it up and found the "ad" for it and it says that it has automatic presser foot activation and a stitch length regulator. There has to be a way

If you have a Singer buttonholer (the one in the green case) it comes with a plate to cover your feed dogs. My treadle has a couple of screw holes that will accept the screw from the plate. It works for me.
