How would you price a 401-A ?

I have a friend asking how much should a 401-A be priced for sale? The machine is in a desk and is in "pristine"condition. Has been taken care of. Unfortunately I do not have a picture. Looked on e-bay and saw up to about $350.00. My friend will be putting it in a booth at a flea market. Thanks for any suggestions.

I sell them from $95 to $150 depending on what is with it.

Listed on ebay and selling are two differently things entirely. People dream big on ebay and I can tell you the dreamers still have their machines:> Does he really want to sell it or not is the question. Cabinets can technically be considered a negative and really don't add a huge amount (if anything) to value. Unless the cabinet is rare or unique. I would much prefer to buy a machine in a portable case than in a cabinet. Miriam gave you a good going rate.

Thank you so much for the responses and I will pass that along.

Oh mine all are in working order since I check them and clean them. If I find one in non-working order it goes for less.

I bought mine for $75, but also got alot of fabric and sewing notions free with the buy...so Miriam is on mark! I bought mine at a Garage sale and it is in perfect shape.

I bought mine locally from Ad in News Paper. Paid $50.00 for it with nice cabinet and extra attachments.

I bought my 500a via a Craigslist ad last year. It was in good (but worn) shape, had several feet, the five basic cams, a manual, and was in a cabinet. I paid $100 for it and considered it a good price. I was glad it came in a cabinet because I didn't have anywhere to put it.

Of course, your friend can start higher and come down.
