I bought two machines this week
 

I was looking some Elna Grasshoppers but was not to certain. Then i tried out a Singer Slant-o-matic 500 model. It sews really nice. I also picked up a Brother Festival 451. It reminds me of the plastic flamingos. It is all metal, sews great straight and zigzag stitches. It will go to my daughter in law who wants to learn to sew.

I recently saw a slant- o- matic with a nice cabinet for $5! But, what to do with it is my problem, so I left it for someone else.

I'm so jealous of your Rocketeer. That's on my "to get" list. That pink Brother is so cool looking.

Pink - I think my DGD would LOVE LOVE LOVE that color.... She lit up when I put a finger guard on a Spartan though - no childhood vaccinations...........

Today's the day I am trying out the slant-o-matic on some new quilt blocks. Can't wait!

Great machines. You'll enjoy them both. I saw an all metal Brother in the wild this weekend, but decided not to buy it. Too many projects already and no time to do any of them. :-(

I bought 2 featherweights in 2 days and thought DH was going to have a corinary (sp), he came to accept it though

My 5 YO DGD would love the pink Brother, too. She is into "pink" everything!! She asked her Mommy just this weekend when was she coming to spend the night with Nana...the fabric will be flying everywhere...she loves it!!

Who knew machines came in Flamingo Pink? There's a Rocketeer on Craigslist for over a month here, but no reply to 3 emails I've sent. Aggravating- I've even put Not Spam in the heading of my replies. Oh well- someday. This Board has been a very bad influence on me!
