I can't believe I did this.
The 201 Singer from the Temple , TX craigslist is now mine. I bought this last night. Turns out she was only a couple of miles from me. Got it for $35. Her hubby rewired it using a WHITE cord and the foot control using a heavy gray cord. He said someone asked if it ran and because the cord was so frayed he replaced it and it runs. The cabinet needs a little tlc and those awful cords need replacing. Will show more pics after I get it done. Really can't believe I did this. I need to get it out of my van and see about replacing the wiring, then refinish the cabinet.

A 201 is awesome. A big congrats.

I would like to have a 201 also. Congratulations. The rewire should be easy, and I agree it would be nice to have the cords black. Anxious to see your photos once you get it unloaded.

This is one to add to my growing group. I have a featherweight, a hand crank and two treadles, one belonged to my hubby's grandmother and the other belonged to my grandmother. I use the featherweight to carry to sewing group.
I need to find more room if I keep this up. |
