I finally own a Pfaff 130
 

This one needs a shout out to Manicmike for spotting the listing for me. It's the machine I lusted after since I started collecting. I saw model 30's everywhere, but never a 130. Not sure how common they are in the States, but they are hard to come by in Australia.

Anyway, it's a double blessing because I recently bought a Necchi for parts (turned out I couldn't use the parts) and it came in a Pfaff treadle table for which I had no Pfaff! So I've had this table in my lounge room reminding my of my biggest blunder - which will now be the perfect home for "Pfran"

She's a glitzy gal. I haven't touched her... this is the magnificent condition she came in :)

OOoohhh Ahhhhh! She is very beautiful! I have a Pfaff 130 as well and it's still undergoing treatments. It was also my coveted machine. They are not overly common in the states either, at least not so in California!

I love the large spoked handwheel. Mine has the original smaller black wheel. Your's will be perfect for the treadle.

Beautiful machines, aren't they? I have one too. Mine was covered with a film that took me (literally) weeks to remove. Worth it? Yeah. Yours is in excellent condition. Congratulations!

In my area (Pacific Northwest US), 130s are somewhat common, i.e. they're not rare. There's a decorative stitch attachment called the Coffee Grinder. Not worth it in my humble opinion.

Make sure you read up on the cleated nylon belt that drives the lower shaft. Also, these aren't all-metal machines. Watch where you put oil, grease, and solvents.

Congrats on your new machine! I've seen one or two 130s but not the 30. The 130 looks to be a very sturdy machine and yours looks pristine.

I built up a Pfaff 130 treadle on a Singer treadle stand, but already had a Singer 306W treadle that I liked better, and then shortly after that, I replaced the 306W with a Singer 319W that I like even better. I use the multi-zigzag more than any other zz stitch, and the 319 has a built-in cam with that stitch on one of the “keys” to select stitches. Therefore, I didn’t use the Pfaff 130 much at all, and just recently found a new home for it. The Pfaff 130 is a nice machine to treadle, and I think you'll like it. I still have a 130 that is electric with the coffee grinder, but I don’t use it either.

Congrats. I restored a 130 and sold it as I just never bonded to it, but they're nice machines.

I found a Pfaff 360 automatic--it was very clean and sews straight stitches and zig zag beautifully--for some reason the embroidery unit moves-but does not embroider the designs--we are still oiling and trying to figure which part is stuck and not letting it design the stitches..

You will enjoy--mine is soo quite..

Here is my husband's. He got his for $27.50 with a fried motor. He put a Sears motor on her, and she really scoots!

BTW - if you get a hankering to put the "coffee grinder" on it, there are a few parts on the front side that need to be changed, and they almost never come with the unit.

I just purchased a pfaff 130, kenmorerulesall. you mentioned the nylon belt and that it's not all metal? could you point me in the right direction to where I can read more about these. thanks
