Idiot here again
Some kind soul here told me I need 15 x 1 needles for my Singer 301. Everything I have found so far also want me to have HAX and something else. Help.
I actually know how to run my Ninie 1630. It just needs an outrageously expensive trip to the repair shop. More than I can afford right now. |
I was able to get the 15 x 1 needles at Joannes. They are pretty common. What is 'HAX'?
|
130/705H are backwards compatible with 15x1. 130/705 is the needle system used in most modern machines. 15x1 is used in many vintage machines, but may not work with modern machines. If your packet says, "HAx1, 130/705H, and 15x1" you can use them on nearly all your machines, vintage and modern.
And you are not an idiot. I didn't know about the different needle systems until I took Ray White's classes in sewing machine repair. |
there was a post on here not long ago about the needles and sizes. I will try to find it and post it here for you to see,
|
The codes for all the different series of sewing needles is very confusing...please don't call yourself and idiot. Some very smart people think that the same needle is to be used for all machines and all fabrics...and can't understand why it broke.

First chart like that I have seen. I just go with what needle my manuals say to use. I have been sewing about 47 Years.
