I've fallen in love.... (301a)

I know I absolutely DO NOT need this machine, but I keep going back and just looking. I saw one on the last quilting retreat and she was so light and functional and fast. I can afford it, but don't need it as I have a Featherweight, a 15-91, and three modern machines including a brand new Janome 8900. But she is blue, and just so pretty looking, but way too expensive. Did I mention I DO NOT need another machine? Please someone talk me out of buying this fast. Thanks!

I second napajohn's comment - since I'm up to over 60 of them, and have a hard time thinking of parting with ANY of them LOL!!

I have over 30 machines, plan on keeping only half but at the asking price I would pass this one up in a heartbeat and never look back. Did that help?

If you love it and have the money, why not? Wrong crowd to tell you no. ;)
They must be getting low on featherweights to paint... Rodney |
I know the work involved with repainting, so I'd never say this kind of machine is over priced. Though I'm too cheap to cough up the money:> If you want it, can afford it and will love it...rock on!

that sure is a pretty machine. I agree with Rodney- if you love it and have the money, why not?

Do they have a warranty on the paint not scratching off?

Dang Bel, that’s sure a nice looking Singer 301A. I really like the blue color. I’d like to try painting one of my own like that, but I probably wouldn’t get the color so vivid. I doubt that many people could. The color is outstanding, and is so brilliant. I doubt if I’ll ever see another one like it, at least not with that brilliant blue. It’s like a “one-of-a-kind” blue, don’t you think?
It probably won’t hurt to pass on it. Even if you never, ever, ever, see another one that pretty, you can always think back to this one that you loved....and passed on..... CD in Oklahoma |
Most of the ones with the shabby paint work the best - maybe they painted it because it was worn.
