Lucy needs some TLC what do I do?
1 Attachment(s)
I have recently bought "Lucy" and she needs a little TLC. I need to know what to do (if anything) to her.
My questions are; (1) What do I use to 'shine' her up? (2) some of the emblems are rubbing off, should I remove them? (3) If I remove them, how do I do that? (4) If I want to touch up her paint on the edges some, what do I use for that? THANKS for your help. You guys are great! |

Don't be afraid to try the "Cleaning and Repair Shellac Finish"! It took me months to get up the nerve to try it on a Pfaff 30 that my rag must have had some chemicals on and I messed up the finish on. A board member encouraged me to try it and now I see why. I have not completed the shellac process yet but the denatured alcohol and linseed oil made that machine look like new! It just took a little time to get it done and one of my husband's tee shirts. I should have taken before pictures because those of us that have not done it before would believe the difference, it is rewarding once you get it going. I fully expected it to be gray again the next day but to my surprise it still looked great! So go for it and good luck!

you can also buy replacement decals for what's missing if you want them. it's amazing how well these little machines clean up!

where do you get the replacement decalls??

here ya go: http://www.keelersales.com/servlet/C...ategory=Decals
the decals on mine are not perfect, but i've opted not to replace them, so can't speak to the process of doing it. Perhaps others can tell you more about it, or the folks at Keeler Sales. |
