Hi Everyone,

I found a beautiful Singer 201k treadle sewing machine this morning at a local consignment shop! :D Of course she needs a little TLC yet, and a new treadle belt (if that's what you call 'em), but I think she's in pretty good shape otherwise.

I'm naming her Paddy, as it was the luck of the Irish (and the good Lord) that brought her to me. We ate breakfast at an Irish restaurant for our anniversary today, then wandered over the the consignment shop. I'm so excited I just had to share.

I just found a free downloadable manual for her, but I would like some advice on where I can find parts for a reasonable price and any other info that would be helpful to me.

Also, if anyone can tell me what part has been broken off when you look at the right side of her, it's the spot directly in front of the hole that the belt comes up into from the back and whether or not it is critical for running this beautiful machine. Thanks in so much in sharing with my news. I look forward to being able to use her soon.

right side - see hole (something broke off) just in front of belt back side. What is this for?

She's a beauty! Don't know what part is missing - can't really see it. Does the information you found show that something should be there?

Thanks. Yes, I did! With four different thingys for different stitches, some of them decorative. I'll take one pic of it closed. Check back in a few minutes.

I don't think anything is broken if you're speaking of the little metal guide. That's for winding the bobbin I believe. PM lostn51 (billy) he's expert on these machines. Sorry didn't see the correct spot. But Billy will know.
