Morse Fotomatic 4100 Zig-Zag Sewing Machine ++

I am bidding on this machine and I would like to know if it is a good machine to have. It has its original manual and accessories are in a plastic bag. The pedal and cord are in good shape, machine looks clean, etc. Will probably need to oiled, etc. Right now the price on the machine is $27.99 plus about $47 for shipping. Help I need your opinion.

Opinion on what?? Is it a good machine? Is it worth the price? It's worth what you are willing to pay and if it's in good condition, Morse is a very reputable manufacturer. I love my Morse machine.

Thank you. It's my first time bidding on a vintage machine. I like the fact that it is a beautiful shade of aqua. I have never seen this brand of machine before either. So again thank you for your input. Yes, I will continue to bid on it.

Candace,

What model is your Morse? I have a TZ-5 and am having a hellava time putting the bobbin winder back together. I took it off to clean and didn't take a picture first. Dumb me. I also can't find a date for mine (serial # 18519.) I did find a manual on-line but it doesn't show the assembly for the bobbin winder. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the 4500...here it is http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...20-t53840.html

I would doubt my model is similar to a TZ-5, though.

I have a Morse 4100 mounted in a cabinet. It is an awesome sewing machine. I bought it from a private party and paid $40.00 for it. If you REALLY, REALLY want it then continue bidding. Since I already have one I would not pay more than $50.

I believe I read Morse machines were made by Toyota and their goal was to make a machine that would last forever. I want one. I love the blue Fotomatics, but have my heart set on the hot pink zz one (can't think of the model number).

I haven't had the chance to ask. Do they take standard needles and bobbins??

I love my 1950 Fotomatic. It's strong, smooth, and quiet. Mine takes standard needles and bobbins.

Is an excellent sewing machine and I think is worth the price, especially with the manual and accessories. I bougth mine in a thrift store and I don't have the manual. If you buy it I'll be happy to pay for a photocopy.
