I'm toying with the idea of making custom needle clamps that have a retractable pin that would lower the needle. I don't think it would be all that hard, but of course it would be a case by case situation. Migth use brass cause it's easier to machine in my home shop.

Please let me know how this custom needle clamp goes. It would solve a lot of problems with machine using 20X1 needles and a lot of machine do use them.

my two spool came with a needle that was not the same as the Singer - though I did not check to see if it was the same as the Boye 14 needle. I just assumed since it was not the Singer, it would be the National.
