Recently found an electrified Singer treadle at the thrift shop and trying to find out more about it. Billy has promised to help if I post some photos, so here they are. The serial number is G2222698 and the Singer site indicates that it was made between 1910 and 1912. It was rebuilt by Bega's and label says "Bega's Rebuilt Singer Machine". It so heavy that the lift mechanism on my table needs assistance to raise/lower it. Need to get it cleaned and checked but it seems to work properly.

You have a wonderful machine indeed!! And an important one just for the fact that very few authorized refurbishers were out there. That was a complete repaint and at one time was more than likely a Red Eye judging from the year it was manufactured.

Back in the day if you had an older machine and instead of paying the big bucks buying another one you could send them off to an authorized refurbisher and they would modernize and fix your machine up to come close to resembling the ones that were offered during that time.

That is a rare find in that good of condition and as for what year it was refurbed there is really no telling. Most of the refurbishing was going on over in the UK but there were the VERY few here in the States.

A few features that really stand out is the modern handwheel, not the original spoked on that came on the machine, then the Singer badge was removed for copyright issues, different non Singer decals and the case is a bentwood of their own design.

An excellent find and its in wonderful condition.
