My newest Sewmor just arrived today.
 

Amongst other machines I have developed a like for Sewmors. And I have a collection of them going.
I have:
2 404s, one gorgeous black one and a pretty silver one.
1 606, a metalic blue more modern SS machine.
and just arrived,
1 505, a cute little back 3/4 size 15 clone with a few other Singer traits. It's marked "SEWMOR LIGHTWEIGHT" on the top of he arm with the standard Sewmor decals and markings on it.

The only problem is the morons who packed it didn't do a good job so I sustained some damage on the way to me.
The box bottom is now broken in many places, one hinge is broken, and the spool pin is bent.
I also found the needle clamp is missing so no I'll have to make a trip to the LSMG. Cross my fingers.

But the machine is in decent condition and I'll have it up and sewing in a short while.

Next on the list is a Sewmor 202. :D

OH DEAR! I've got to rehome some of the machines I've got now. Officially out of room and that's going some. No more nooks or crannies to stick 'em in.

We were discussing using the taller sewing machines as corner posts for the bed, then putting the shorter ones underneath.

As for the dust bunnies the cats keep them stirred up.

Caroline, I never thought of under my bed. Hey now I can add quite a few more machines to my harem. :)

The first thing I bought after I started working in 1958 was a sewing machine. It was a Sew Mor and was advertised in the paper. I solved the puzzle and got it for $50. I made payments, $5 a month. I sewed for myself and when my room mate saw what I was doing, she asked me to sew for her. I used it until after I got married, and made a lot of baby clothes for my babies. Then I moved up to a Singer Golden Touch and Sew and used it for several years and moved up to a new model Singer. I used it until I went to the State Fair and saw Janome's demonstrated and just had to have one of them. When the mother board blew up on it I moved up to the 11000 which was the top of the line at the time. I'm still using it and bought a Jem at a good price to take to classes. I got another good deal on a Jem and gave it to my daughter. She loves it. So goes my sewing machine story which began with a Sew Mor.
