Pfaff 262
 

I bought my son a Pfaff 262 he was so excited to get this great industrial machine. It runs great and came with the original manual the only thing missing was the stitch wheel. Does anyone have one that could be copied? Also any tips I should pass on to him. Thanks

It's not an industrial machine. You can join the vintage pfaff yahoo group and there's a stitch wheel there you can download, or buy an original one on ebay or on the net. Sorry, I won't take mine apart to copy it.

Thanks for the info Candace, I had seen it referred to as an industrial machine. My son's in industrial design and is using the machine for some heavy weight materials and leather. Seems to handle the demands nicely and sews perfectly. I'll let him know about the yahoo group. I wouldn't take mine apart either.

Lots of people refer to vintage machines as "industrial". They think it sells machines for more money.

To worst part is a lot that I have spoken with just thought "old cast iron" = industrial

The machines have a reputation for sewing through so much more than modern machines it is as if they are "industrial"

What most folks do not realize is that most "industrial" machines are not actually that much stronger, most are just specifically designed for a specific task or made to run long and fast, or made to be easily serviceable whereas most domestic machines need to be "jack of all trade" machines.
