Precision Duchess

I came across a 3/4 size black machine this morning at a local junk store. Asking price is $15 in a cabinet. The cabinet is ok, nothing special. The machine looks good, very much like a FW. It's called a Precision Duchess and says Japan on it, but the motor says make in the USA by Universal Motor. Serial # on it is ID31624 under the bed. It goes in reverse, but I don't think it zz'ags.

The kicker is the wiring is all torn up. I'm thinking its a FW clone and not worth more than the asking price. All the decals are good as well as the bk finish. comments??

Likely, what your talking about is a 3/4 Singer clone and not a FW. A 3/4 machine still weighs a ton and doesn't resemble a FW, with a flip up bed. There are a ton of clones on the market. $15 is a good price for it, if it works!

A photo will tell for sure. If it's wired like I think it might be, rewiring it will be fairly easy.

I'd pay $15.00 for it.

Yeah, me too. Would not be able to pass it up at that price. I would find room for it somehow. For $15 it would be a good machine to learn how to re-wire.

I would pay $15 for it too. I'm a very weak woman when it comes to sewing machines. This is why I have 20 of them.
