Pricing a featherweight

I have several featherweights. My friend wants to buy one. My problem is I don''t want to overprice it and I don't want to cheat myself either. Any suggestions as to a price?

A friend sold me one about ten years ago for $300 and I was thrilled. Just love that sweet machine! Hers was given to her new when she was a girl in the 1950's.

I just sold mine on ebay for $200 plus shipping, machine A1 shape, case was rough...

Depends on the case, attachments and the shape it's in. I've sold them for anywhere from $250 to $400 - and I've sold quite a few. Check online prices (dealers & Ebay) - but remember, they may not be in as good a shape as yours, so don't cheat yourself.

I bought one from a friend for 450. Too much, but I wanted it.

If your machine is an anniversary model (1851-1951), it is more collectible and will bring more money. Saying that, I have paid as little as 120.00 (no bobbin case) and have seen anniversary models for as much as 450.00. It is all in what the buyer wants to pay and how good of a condition it is in. JMHO

I just bought mine without a case or extra accessories for $100. The machine is in excellent condition, sews wonderfully. Decals intact. I love it. It is from 1935. You'll price it fairly. Good Luck!
