Problems FMQ on a singer 15-91

Hi all. I'm a little lost as to where to go from here. I have a Centennial 15-91 that I really like sewing on. For straight piecing it sews a very nice stitch with no problems. I would also like to try to FMQ on it but I seem to have a problem with the stitches skipping. It will start out fine and then I will notice that it appears to no longer be forming stitches (the bobbin thread is not getting caught. I have made sure that both the needle is in properly (flat to the left). Dropped the feed dogs and used a darning foot. I have threaded and re threaded the machine several times. Its fine for straight stitching so I'm not sure where to try to make adjustments.

Thanks in Advance

Try a different needle, a larger one, and see if that helps.

did you put the presser lever down?

You might try a different darning foot. The one you like the best may not be the one the machine wants. Sounds crazy, but that is my experience. also a new needle may be in order.
