A scrappy braid pattern, done for a baby boy. This one was a quick finish and easy to put together.

Bennett, I love your baby quilt, so colorful. Sewing and quilting a quilt start to finish with a Featherweight is my dream, I just have to get a Featherweight I get to keep!

Thanks y'all. I've fallen into the pattern of using my FW for piecing and my 15-91 for quilting here lately. I wanted to stipple it, but used a fairly heavy backing, so I kept breaking thread and skipping stitches. I ended up doing sort of a free-form straight line "stipple" with my walking foot down each column.

The mother seemed a little surprised by the gift, but then the next day she said her husband had just loved it. Apparently it reminded him of scrappy quilts from when he was little. :) That made my day. My favorite quilts to make are for babies.

It's a perfect quilt for a boy. I really like it. Is there an end to the scraps? They just keep multiplying.

At long last - I have taken the plunge and done some FMQ! This is the quilt I made for my partner in the March doll quilt swap, using tiny scraps from my scrap jar. It is paper pieced, using my Frister and Rossmann transverse shuttle, FMQ on my 1945 Singer 15K treadle, and bound using my 1927 99K hand machine.

It was a bit bumpy going over the seams with the FMQ - tips would be greatly appreciated!

That is so nice. The colors and pattern look very cozy. (I'm imagining it big!)
I wished my FMQ stitches looked half as even. I always notice how neat and precise your work is.
