Ready made hand crank collection for sale

Everytime I see this listing on ebay I drool:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-ANTIQUE-A...-/150663158765

Not that we could afford it right now, but.... Then reality sets in and I ask where I'd put them. Then I think about the fun of the chase that I'd miss out on if I bought a collection ready to clean up. Then I think about how scarce hand cranks are on the ground here in Wisconsin and start to contemplate it again :)

Quite a collection there, big price.

Yeah, we've considered this a couple of times but there's really no profit margin in there to be made once we figured in time and gas etc to go get them all. He wants too much for the lot.

I know I wouldn't do it just to try to turn around and sell them. Too much hassle without a guaranteed return. Using it as the base of a collection, though - I could see that. Sell of the ones that are duplicates or that just don't appeal and consider anything brought in that way to be icing on the cake. But we'd be back to having a collection rather than building a collection and I the building part is fun, too.

That listing has been on Ebay since May with only 3 offers. At least all of those machines are under cover and protected. Can you imagine purchasing a whole herd/hoard at once???

WoW! I have 2 hand cranks, A Minnesota Model D (that I was told would make a good boat ancher) and a Singer 99. I use the Singer more and really enjoy sewing with it. But I only paid $20 for it......but worth more in enjoyment to me.

I'd love to have a hand crank, but an entire collection-? Well, if I wanted to tinker for quite some time and had $$ to burn, then perhaps I'd make a lower offer on it. Dream on!

If I found a 99 hand crank for $20 that even came close to working I'd snap it up! I'd really like to have a pretty one but at that price I'd settle.

LOL. I'd love to see the look on DH's face if I came home with that bunch! He thinks I'm awful now, but that would finish it off! Fun to look at and drool over, though!

Maybe if we all pitched in, we could get the collection and split it.
