Removing Paint overspray

I just purchased a blue precision deluxe (15 clone) sewing machine. It has what appears to be some red paint over spray on it. What would be the best way to try to remove this paint? I have tried sewing machine oil but not much improvement. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd use very fine #OOOO Steel wool with sewing machine oil to non decaled areas and use a light touch. Go with non-pumiced Gojo, Goo-Gone or something similar if the first option didn't work.
