Yes, Elliot's featherweight is gorgeous!

I think I really love the flat turquoise one here. I like that it has no metallic or pearl in the paint. Like a vintage car. I may have to look for a fw in need of a paint job and have dh paint her up for me. I would want decals though.

I still haven't decided on a color for my featherweight, but I am in the process of stripping it down. Does anyone have a good method of removing the brass medallion without damaging it?

Its in the book by Dave Mccallum. I dont have it handy. I think you pop off the rivets inside the machine, then put the badge back on with little screws and glue the original rivet heads back. I can check later when I have my book handy if no one else has an idea.

Help, I'm confused. How were the decals maintained on all those painted ones?

Stripped off then new decals reapplied. My assumption is most of the repainted ones were in poor cosmetic condition to begin with.

After repainting, new decals are put in place, then several clear coats are applied.

A couple of sewing machines I have repainted. These machines were all in poor cosmetic condition.
