Replacement parts for Singer 15-98

I have a Singer 15-98 that is missing a bobbin slide cover plate. I have found several of them - all reproductions. Some of the descriptions use words like "chrome plate, not zinc or aluminum". How do these reproductions differ from the originals?

Joyce,

The three I've purchased from Sew-Classic are more of a satin chrome type finish then the polished nickle plate of the originals.
They don't look bad, but they don't match the originals either.

Thanks, Joe. I think I'll order one. When I decide how far I want to go with this machine I may want something different but it will do for now even if it isn't a "match".

I use the replacement pieces because I haven't found OEM parts and these are not collectable quality machines. They are users.
So it really doesn't matter. And on some of the later machines the repros actually match up pretty good.
